MISSION: To showcase more diverse representation and redefine urban fatherhood.
VISION: Honor the past aspirations and build a strong, well-developed future through fatherhood equity.
about the brand
Starting as a non-profit idea, DetroitFather launched as a community mentorship group seeking to provide fatherless men in Metro Detroit the opportunity to develop their personal identity, social awareness, and community engagement.
To solve the fatherless epidemic, as more than 20 million children live in a home without the physical presence of a father, Detroit Father LLC was created as a way to engage and partner with global brands.
about the founder
Highly motivated and philanthropic, Damarqio (DK) Williams is a leading influencer, entrepreneur, and advocate for equality and inclusion. He leverages his passion by promoting strategic brand diversity and equity consultations, collaborating with respected brands, and advocating for equitable fatherhood policies to cultivate a more compassionate community for everyone.
Growing up, DK did not have a relationship with his biological father. This reality initially made him feel like he would fall victim to the adverse depiction that society has drawn up for those without fathers; jail or dead. But that was far from what actually happened. DK successfully graduated high school, became the first in his family to earn a college degree at just eighteen years old, and is now an iconic leader in driving positive change.
Today, DK is head of several organizations. He is founder of Dad Influencers, a virtual community to support dads around the world; co-founder of Joining Forces with King, an initiative to develop a safe environment and motivate narrative change regarding Black men in Detroit, and founded Detroit Social Circle, a safe place that brings different communities and cultures together to drive transformational social impact.
